The Glowbotic Bunnies, team 18156

October, 2019

Ballentine Elementary’s “First LEGO League” (FLL) Team out of Fuquay-Varina paid us a visit to showcase their invention.  FLL is a STEM program where students work as a team to solve real-world problems while learning robotics and programming.

The students’ 2019 challenge was to improve a public space. The team coach, Rose Montplaisir, said, “Based on our experiences and findings that Fuquay-Varina is one of the fastest growing regions in the nation, we decided to focus on traffic-related issues… We were concerned about construction safety, specifically the flaggers or human directionals.”

To address this need, the students invented an S.T.O.P. : Shaded Traffic Operation Product. We think it is awesome!
